Erik Bosgraaf is widely considered to be one of the world’s leading recorder players. His repertoire ranges from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons to the music of today. He is the founding member of Ensemble Cordevento with which he has performed at major festivals. He has released numerous CDs for Brilliant Classics (La Monarcha, Bach, Vivaldi). Bosgraaf has been commissioned over seventy works, among them many concertos. In 2011 Pierre Boulez granted him special permission to create a version for recorder of his ‘Dialogue de l’ombre double’ which was released on CD in 2015. As a soloist he has worked with, amongst others, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, London Aurora Orchestra, Residentie Orchestra The Hague, Dutch Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Dutch Chamber Orchestra and Helsinki Baroque Orchestra. As an improviser he has played with leading jazz musicians including saxophonist Yuri Honing and cellist Ernst Reijseger.
Bosgraaf is professor at the Amsterdam Conservatory since 2010. He is the recipient of the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award 2009, Dutch Music Prize 2011, ECHO Rising Star 2011/2012 and the Golden Violin Award 2012.
