Lucia McGinnis is an Irish Harp player from County Derry in Northern Ireland. She studied the harp at the renowned Irish Music and Dance course at the University of Limerick and later trained as a Music Therapist with a Masters in the Arts. She is currently a private tutor who also teaches at an Irish Music Academy. Over the past 20 years she has been performing the harp at weddings and different events all over the island of Ireland and as far afield as Lebanon. For the past 5 years she has been a guest musician with BASORK, the Balkan and Irish influenced band from Derry co-writing the Moroccan inspired track ‘For Youssoffia written after Martin’s trip to the city of the same name. This led to her involvement with HELLASENSEMBLE with whom she played at the première of ‘Sonnets from Hellas’ at the Seamus Heaney Home Place in 2021.
