Dimitris Soukaras (guitar) & Giancarlo Palena (bandoneon)

The distinguished Greek, classical guitar soloist, Dimitris Soukaras meets Italian bandoneon virtuoso, Giancarlo Palena on stage to present an alternative music program. The two young musicians, while studying at the Royal Music Academy in London, realized they shared a common passion for Astor Piazzolla’s music. They started performing together in Greece, Italy, England, Canada, USA, cooperating with Orchestras, participating in music festivals especially in Italy and Greece.

On Paxos they are presenting a program of transcriptions of famous film scores. Enio Morricone’s famous pieces from beloved westerns, Mikis Theodorakis pieces from films like Serpico and Zorbas and many others will fill the Old Loggos school garden. Naturally, Tango Nuevo and Piazzolla’s works will also be staring in their program.
