Christina Maxouri

Christina Maxouri was bοrn in Athens.
Honorary graduate of higher education Drama School “Neo Elliniko Theatro” of Giorgos Armenis.
She has worked on plays by: Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, Goldoni, Mariveaux, Chekhov, Marlow, Dickens, Ionesco, Schimelpfehig, Ragkavis, Peresiadis, Horn, Psathas, Vasilikos, Alexakis, Kalavrianos and has collaborated with directors such as: Vasilis Papavasiliou, Yannis Houvardas, Peter Stein, Nikos Karathanos, Kostas Tsianos, Giorgos Armenis, Diagoras Chronopoulos, Yannis Kakleas, Sotiris Hatzakis, Yannis Moschos, Efi Theodorou, Dimitis Lignadis, Konstantinos Arvanitakis, Yiannis Margaritis, Sofia Spiratou, Takis Vouteris, Takis Tzamarias, Martha Frinitzila, Yannis Kalavrianos, Maria Protopappa and Foteini Banou. In the National Theatre of Greece, Athens and Epidaurus Festival as well as theatre in general.
She has been nominated twice for the theatre award “Melina Merkouri” (2011-2012), for the production “Paraloges or Small everyday tragedies”, directed by Yannis Kalavrianos.
Also, she was nominated for the award “Eleftheria Sapountzi” (2015)

She has taken part in the albums “Sisyphus” by Sofia Lambropoulou (Ordarek), “Kardia Misi” by Christos Theodorou (Mikri Arktos Publications), “Mavro Dendri” by Orestis Karamanlis and Elias Vamvakousis (bandcamp.com), “Paichnidia ton paidion” by Panos Vlachos (ogdoo.gr), “Tragoumithia kai Paragoudia” by Fanis Margaronis (Little Panik).
As well as the upcoming album “Kainourgia Nera”, in lyrics by Thodoris Gonis and music by Christos Theodorou (Mikri Arktos Publications).
In November of 2012, she completed a series of performances with a folk orchestra quartet, under the title “From the Gramophone to the stage”, with songs by St. Chaskil, M. Ninou and S. Bellou, at Hammam Musical Stage in Athens. Other participants in this tribute were also Matoula Zamani, Martha Frintzila, Eleni Kokkidou, Lena Kitsopoulou, Fotis Siotas and Lydia Koniordou.
In June 2017, a series of concerts were performed as part of the Athens Festival/Opening the City, by the title of “20+1 Folk Postwar Songs with a Baroque Ensemble” in the Anglican Church of St. Paul, which was her own concept, song selection and performance. The concert was also repeated in the courtyard of the National Bank of Greece Cultural Foundation, again as part of the Athens Festival/Opening to the City, in June 2018.
In September 2022, the double tribute album “Manos Loizos – Meta” was released, with 30 covers of Manos Loizos songs, where she participates with the song by Manos Loizos and Yiannis Negrapontis “ Oi dikoi mou”.
