Welcoming Paul Brady and ‘Bright Phoebus’ to the Paxos stage will be Elias Dendias, a virtuoso bouzouki player born and raised onPaxos. A master of rebetiko (the Greek Blues), Elias has built his distinguished musical career on a foundation of meticulous study, combined with a fluid and seemingly effortless precision in his playing. Deeply rooted in 20th-century and earlier Greek musical traditions, Elias’s own compositions reflect a rich blend of influences, ranging from Vivaldi to Django Reinhardt. His impressive list of collaborations spans both Irish and international music scenes, including performances with Andy Irvine and Dónal Lunny, Africa Black Mambazo, Jackie Leven, Andy White, Kyron Bourke, Bright Phoebus, and Crowded House, with whom he toured in 2023 and 2024.
