Greek soprano Georgia Tryfona graduated with honors in Singing from the Ionian University of Corfu in Greece with Rosa Poulimenou. She soon completed her studies in singing/musical theater with distinction at the Berlin University of the Arts, where she studied with Prof. Julie Kaufmann, Peter Maus and Hendrik Heilmann. She attended numerous master classes with Barbara Bonney, Jeanette Pilou and Emma Kirkby in relation to her previous training.
Her engagements have taken the young singer to the Handel Halle, the Putbus Theater, the Händel Festival in Halle, the Nikolaisaal in Potsdam, the Rheinsberg Palace and the Stettin Theater.
She has performed as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Komische Oper Orchester Berlin, the Staatskapelle Halle, the Neues Kammerorchester Potsdam, the Johann Strauss Orchestra Wiesbaden, and the Babelsberg Film Orchestra and the Kammerorchester Wernigerode.
She is a winner of the Rheinsberger Kammeroper Gesangswettbewerb 2018 and a Special Prize winner of the Giulio Perotti Gesangswettbewerb 2012 for the ‘Best Mozart Aria’.
Her repertoire ranges from baroque to late romanticism and operetta. Her most important roles include the Mozart roles of ZERLINA in Don Giovanni and DESPINA in Cosi fan tutte, BARBARINA from Le nozze di Figaro as well as ADELE in Die Fledermaus, VALENCIENNE in The Merry Widow, ÄNNCHEN in Der Freischütz, DORINDA in Orlando ( Handel) BERTA in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, CLARICE in Gli astrologi immaginari (Paisiello), SECOND FAIRY from The Fairy Queen by Purcell.
Her concert repertoire includes The Creation (Haydn), Carmina Burana (Orff), Christmas Oratorio (Bach), Messiah (Händel), Johannespassion (Telemann), Oratorio de Noel (Saint-Saëns and the Great Mass in E flat major (Schubert) as well as Elijah (Mendelssohn) and ein deutsches Requiem (Brahms).
