Marc Forbes is a talented musician with a professional career as a performer, teacher, lecturer and sound engineer. His first instrument in bass guitar, but he also plays guitar and double-bass – in a variety of styles including Jazz, Rock, Funk, Blues, Irish traditional, Pop and Traditional Balkan. As part of the WOMAD outreach programme he has run workshops on world music and global identity and it was this passion for the music of different countries which led him to the ten-piece fusion group, BASORK, where he has played music from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey. Marc has toured extensively with BASORK, including shows at Glastonbury, WOMAD and festivals throughout Europe.
