Robert Peoples is a classically trained, Derry-born fiddle player who starting learning the instrument from the age of 7. He has been the leader of several orchestras, including the Western Area Youth Orchestra, the Colchester Institute School of Music Orchestra, and the Colchester Symphony Orchestra and String Orchestra. Living in England for many years, he played with groups likeTHE CELEBRATED ONION BAND and BO DIDDLEY DIDDLEY. He has also played alongside great Irish musicians includingTHE CHIEFTAINS and Ronnie Drew. He is a stalwart of the local music scene in the North West of Ireland and fronts the folk fusion ensemble BASORK with his genre defying style.
