Rodrigo Pardo

Argentinean performer specialized on contemporary dance, tango dance and singing, Rodrigo has also and international career as choreographer and creator of site-specific projects focused on the insertion of dance fictions in everyday life.
He is graduated from Dasarts- Master in Performing Arts (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), Theater School of Bahía Blanca (Argentine) and Contemporary Dance School of T. Gral. San Martín (Bs. Aires, Argentine)

Based in Buenos Aires from 1995 to 2004, he had the opportunity to learn the authentic tango directly from the masters, while at the same time his artistic curiosity pushed him towards the production of his own unorthodox creations such as “Toilet Tango” and “Ognat” (commissioned by the Biennal Di Venezia in 2007), or more recently “Tormentango” (2021) and Tormentango/Berlin (2022), projects in which classical tango dance and singing is mixed with other techniques in a very personal approach.

From its beginnings in Argentina to the present day, his work has been supported by relevant international institutions such as:: Biennale di Venezia (IT), INSITU (European network), Lieux Publics (FR), Napoli Teatro Festival Italia (IT), Federal Government for Culture and Media (DE), American Dance Festival (U.S), Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst (NL), Fundación Antorchas (AR), and his pieces presented in festivals like: Gadeteater Festival (DK), Chalon dans la rue
(FR), Dance Umbrella (UK), Festival de Marseille (FR), Festival International de Buenos Aires (AR), Festival Temporada Alta (ES), Festival de la Cité Lausanne (CH), Theater op de Markt (BE), Fringe Festival Shanghai (CN), Thessaloniki Festival (GR), Dança em Foco (BR) and many others.
