“Dream of Time: a journey through the spiritual music of the world” is a collection of works that travel through different styles, languages and cultures; they show a great variety of religious and spiritual perspectives, but only one humanity. From Greece to Japan, the age-old tradition of uniting the voice with a stringed instrument has always been a common denominator in world music. In this programme, the mezzo-soprano’s colour and the versatility of the viola da gamba make it possible for the performers themselves to adapt to the very different aesthetics in a natural and idiomatic way.
