The work DIDIMANES – TWIN MOTHERS by Dimitra Trypani for a phonetic and music ensemble and narration has travelled a lot through time and space since 2015. Its course has been rather impressive.
Starting as a community project during the 2015 Paxos Festival, where local choir members and choir music students from the Music Department of the Ionian University participated, it passed on the main stage of the Ionian Academy in Corfu, where it was staged in collaboration with the phonetic and music ensemble of the Ionian University continuing to produce strong emotions to performers and audience alike as well as wonderfully warm relations among the performers themselves managing to have 2 sold out performances.
In May 2018 it makes the leap on o the Alternative Stage of the National Opera at their brand new venue of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. The truthful power of the actual story and the artistic excellence of the music work by Dimitra Trypani managed to overcome the frigid air of the chaotic Athenian center. The 36 handpicked choir members and instrumentalists had never met each other. After 40 hours of hard training and rehearsals they became a tight, dynamic, emotionally powered group, which managed to transmit their feelings to the audience during both shows.
The Alternative Stage venues was absolutely full both times with a lot of additional seats placed last minute and many people having to leave due to lack of seats.
Three quite positive reviews have been written in the Press and Social Media Network so far.

The above sum is not enough for a group of 40 people to fly to Germany from Athens. We are soon launching a campaign in an effort to raise the necessary amount (that reaches the sum of 20.000 euro).
